A few top-of-mind items!!

Startup stuff that I think is cool

• I caught up with my friend Nick, who is now building the Arena Project. They are a nonprofit supporting founders for free in an overlooked part of the founder journey, aka, what happens when you step away? Whether you’ve exited, got fired as CEO, or shut the company down, they want to help founders through the transition. I am working with him to plan a really cool retreat for founders who transitioned in the past year!!!

• I met with Jimmy, who is building Simplora, ai that helps you understand and communicate with different roles in your company. Think of marketing jargon speaking to coder lingo.

• I talked to Craig about the new startup he’s building! Craig has been in the army for a long time and is passionate about the problem of head injuries caused during training. He is commercializing some cool research out of Vandy to help solve this problem.

• I listened to Monique interview Shane about his founder journey during a Daytrip Ventures event.

• I went to a Preds game with Charlie from VITL and he caught a puck! They are building a simple e-prescribing tool and crushing it. I am super happy I just helped them find a Head of Product + Engineering to take their tech to the next level!

Events

Lighthouse

• Eric was my hero this weekend! He runs Nashville Maintenance Pros and seemingly knows how to fix anything. He is now building OneTap, a platform focused on helping scaling restaurants easily manage their repairs, find the right vendor, and manage expenses.

• We hosted an AMA with my friend and startup CFO expert, Nick!

Personal

I went to an EDM concert at the Caverns and camped! If you haven’t been to this venue in a cave before, it is a TN bucket list item!!!
